3. Creating a Data Set
The first step in performing link analysis is to collect a data set. To do this, you'll need to open a spreadsheet in Google Sheets. You'll want to make sure that you have a column labeled "Links" where you can enter the links you'd like to analyze.
Next, you'll want to add columns for each variable you'd like to analyze, including the following:
- Variable 1 - Name of the link
- Variable 2 - Number of times the link was clicked
- Variable 3 - Average time spent on the page
- Variable 4 - Percentage of clicks that were from mobile devices
